HVAC DUCT OPERATORS (GAUTENG)

Introduction And Role ContextThe Duct Operator will be responsible for assisting in the installation and maintenance of various air ducts HVAC systems/equipment (commercial), operating equipment safely and efficiently, providing basic maintenance and meeting quality standards and project targets
Duties/responsibilitiesEnsures that work area has been set up to provide optimum safe work area and workflow. Assist with installation of HVAC equipment in accordance with work orders. Inspects equipment for operating efficiency. Assist with the setup/teardown of equipment. Assembles HVAC units and condensers and places/installs air boxes, registers, thermostats, coils, air handlers, heat pumps, copper line sets and risers in the installation process assist in the cleaning of air ducts where necessary. Cleans, perform basic maintenance and makes minor repairs or specified operating adjustments to equipment. Locate, diagnose and make repairs to ensure the continuous, safe and efficient installation of all equipment. Keep supervisor informed of work progress. Track and monitor all parts and materials used in installation activities. Ensure that final work meets quality standards and is inspected by Supervisor. Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assignedTimely completion of paperwork including but not limited to timesheets, on-site documentation (where relevant)
Required Qualification and experience3 – 5 years HVAC Industry and installation experience  3 – 5 years experience in HVAC or service industry-proven experience working on new construction and retrofits projectsValid driver’s licence metric/Grade 12 or equivalentN2 – N4 Certificate (advantageous)Knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed familiar with a wide range of equipment sound hand tools knowledge
